In a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never pursued war but harbors no hesitation in defending itself with strength. He stressed: "It is a false assumption to think Iran would accept irrational demands and double standards under pressure or enter negotiations while Zionist regime attacks continue."

On Saturday evening, Masoud Pezeshkian spoke by phone with Emmanuel Macron, President of France, and referred to the coincidence of the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran with the ongoing nuclear talks and confidence-building measures. He stated:
“I came to office with a slogan of unity at home and engagement with the world, but from the very first day, the Zionist regime sought to disrupt these efforts by assassinating Martyr Haniyeh.”

The President emphasized that, based on religious principles and the Supreme Leader’s fatwa, the Islamic Republic of Iran has never pursued nor intends to pursue nuclear weapons. He added:
“Iran has always been prepared to reach understanding and agreement through dialogue and engagement. Unfortunately, global powers have chosen to believe the lies of a regime that seeks to plunge the region into chaos rather than accept our reasoned arguments.”

Reaffirming that Iran has never sought war and bloodshed but has no doubt in defending itself with strength, he said:
“Our preference has always been to resolve issues diplomatically. But assuming that Iran would yield to irrational demands and double standards under pressure, or sit at the negotiating table while Zionist attacks continue, is a false and futile assumption.”

Pezeshkian further asserted:
“Throughout the negotiations, the Americans repeatedly stressed that Israel would never commit any act of aggression without their coordination or approval. It is therefore evident that the current attacks were carried out with U.S. coordination and a green light. If they truly wish, they can restrain this regime.”

In response, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed France’s willingness to play a more active role in resolving the nuclear issue. He said:
“France had no knowledge of Israel’s intention to attack Iran and was not involved in any way. We hope these events do not harm bilateral relations and cooperation. France has also taken a firm stance against Israeli attacks on Gaza and will maintain this position.”
