The Global Journalism Council condemned the missile strike on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) by Israel during a live broadcast.

According to the Persian section of Tasnim News Agency, the council — which includes journalists from Turkey and several other countries — condemned the attack on the IRIB building in Tehran in an official statement.
The statement reads:
“We, as the Global Journalism Council, strongly condemn the missile attack on Iran’s state TV. This savage act of aggression is not only an attack on a broadcasting organization, but also a clear violation of the general public’s right to access information and freedom of the press.”
“The fact that the attack was committed by Israel reflects a continuation of systematic policies that have targeted journalists in war zones, particularly in Palestine.”
“Israel has martyred journalists in Gaza through deliberate attacks. It targets media outlets intentionally, disregarding international law.”
“It must not be forgotten that safeguarding members of the press, even in conflict zones, is a fundamental principle of international humanitarian law. Attacks on journalists are considered war crimes.”
