“This violation is a continuation of the acts of savagery that, over the past eight months, have turned our region into a center of instability and violence. They have transformed our region into a place of constant war — a regime committing genocide in Palestine while simultaneously waging another war.”
A war against humanity
Today is the 4th day of the clear violation of the Zionist regime against Iran, Baghaei said, noting that a number of prominent personalities in the fields of science lost their lives as a result of the Zionist regime’s violent aggression against Iran.
“We condole the martyrdom of the dears, they will be remembered in the memory of all of us,” he said, adding that we have begun a serious fight, relying on our strength.
The spokesperson said that our response will be a legitimate defense based on international law, wisdom, and human logic.
“All those who defended the aggression of the Zionist regime, supported it, or justified it are complicit in the crimes of the Zionist regime,” he said.
He emphasized that Israel’s attack on Iran has not happened in a vacuum but is the continuation of crimes that have been occurring over the past 8 months in our region.
“It must not be forgotten that if the regime goes unpunished and the support of the U.S. continues, it has put the peace and security in the region at risk,” he said.
Baghaei said that while we defend our soil with all strength, we remind all members of the United Nations that if they believe in the Charter of the United Nations and security systems, they must act; the UN Security Council must get involved; ambiguous words are attempts to justify crimes; requests for self-restraint from Iran are nothing but hypocrisy and irresponsibility.
Baghaei said that Israel has targeted our nuclear facilities and residential buildings, which contradicts international principles and regulations.
“Assassination of prominent personalities while there is no war, and assassination of civilians are not acceptable, and contradict international laws.”
Baghaei said that this war, against humanity, will not be limited to Iran; the war has been imposed by an apartheid, occupier, and genocidal regime in the region, with its roots dating back thousands of years in the region and the rule of the UN Charter’s law.
He added that all countries that really believe in peaceful living at the international level must act to stop the crimes and make the Zionist regime responsible.
“We call on all friendly countries and all influential countries within international structures to approve a binding resolution against the Zionist regime and act with all strength against the Zionist regime. This is a test for all countries in the field of fighting against villainy.”
Negotiation is meaningless under the current situation
Baghaei said that the U.S. and Israel were complicit with each other in the process of negotiations. He said that negotiations were underway when the Zionist regime committed a violation, undermining the entire diplomatic process. The diplomatic process and negotiation are meaningless in light of this act of the Zionist regime that is unimaginable without the collaboration of the U.S.
He added that the U.S. must take a transparent stance; contradictory positions do not help solve this huge doubt; we have no doubt that the U.S. has been involved in this attack.
Baghaei said that the U.S., as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, must condemn this violation; the U.S. must not dismiss realities because of these ties.
Diplomacy never stops
On the destiny of indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran, Baghaei said that “Diplomacy never closes as a principle, and it must serve the country in war and peace. Iran has never ignored diplomacy, but it faces a violation amidst a diplomatic process. This is called killing diplomacy and dealing a blow to diplomacy.” Because of this, Sunday’s meeting in Muscat was canceled.
Civilians who lost their lives
In parts of his speech, Baghaei held up pictures of civilians who lost their lives in the Israeli attacks and, with his voice breaking and tears in his eyes, said:
“The little girl was victimized without knowing why.”
He added: “Ehsan Esharghi was a father and a simple bank employee. In the violent aggression of the Zionist regime against Tehran, a bomb landed in the middle of their lives. Ehsan and his daughter neither possessed a nuclear bomb nor posed a threat to anyone. Yet even their breathing could not be tolerated by a regime that has no fear of killing children — a regime that finds entertainment in doing so.”
