Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said that international calls for an end to the war have already begun and will only intensify.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said that international calls for an end to the war have already begun and will only intensify. “I believe this resistance is gradually leading countries to distance themselves from the Zionist regime’s aggression. The growing calls for ending the war show just how effective the Iranian people’s resistance has been—and will continue to be,” he said in a televised interview.
Araghchi noted that last week’s UN Security Council session was convened at Iran’s request to address the Zionist regime’s assault on Iranian territory. “A second Security Council session on Israel’s attack against Iran is now being held at the request of China, Russia, Pakistan, and others,” he added.

We have no words for US as Israeli partner
Rejecting reports that Iran has sought negotiations with the United States during the recent escalation, Araghchi said, “The Americans have sent several messages, but we made it very clear: as long as the aggression continues, there is no point in discussing dialogue. Right now, we are exercising our legitimate right to self-defense. We have no words for the Americans, whom we regard as partners of the Zionists in this assault.”

We haven’t requested talks with US
He confirmed that some countries have reached out to Iran but reiterated, “We have had no contact or conversation with the Americans. The rumors claiming otherwise are false. We have not requested any talks.”

Nuclear program and regional issues, not missiles
Referring to Iran’s upcoming meeting with the E3 (France, Germany, UK) and the European Union, Araghchi said, “We’ve had previous discussions with the Europeans. The focus of these talks remains our nuclear program and regional matters. We are not discussing missiles with anyone, and that is absolutely non-negotiable.”

Surrendering Iran is a fool’s errand
The Foreign Minister underscored that Iran sees the United States as an accomplice to the Zionist regime’s attacks. “There is overwhelming evidence of coordination between U.S. forces in the region and the Zionist regime,” he said. “But beyond that, what makes it undeniable are the U.S. President’s tweets and interviews where he openly says ‘we’ did this or ‘we’ will do that. There’s no need for further proof of American involvement.”
Highlighting the firm response by Iran’s armed forces, Araghchi said, “Their heroic resistance is proving that the idea of bringing Iran to its knees through a few swift, lightning strikes was a delusional fantasy.”

We were in the middle of diplomacy, what are we supposed to return to?
Araghchi also pushed back on suggestions from some governments that Iran should de-escalate and return to diplomacy. “We were in the middle of diplomacy when we were attacked. What exactly are we supposed to return to?” he asked.

Attacking nuclear facilities is an unforgivable crime
He condemned Israel’s strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities and slammed Western countries for their silence. “The support—or rather the lack of condemnation—is indefensible. Under international law, attacking nuclear installations is an unforgivable violation. It has been discussed repeatedly in international forums. The West knows this very well, but still avoids condemning such actions.”
