According to ISNA, Takeshi Iwaya, Japan’s Foreign Minister, expressed Tokyo’s deep concern about the conflicts between Iran and the Zionist regime during a phone call with his Israeli counterpart, Gideon Sa’ar.

Quoting Anadolu Agency, he stated: “Efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through dialogue are essential. Israel must respect international law and take steps to reduce tensions with Tehran.”

The Japanese Foreign Minister further added: “Any actions that could escalate tensions or exacerbate the current situation must be avoided. Restoring calm is crucial.”

This senior Tokyo official also emphasized the need for a ceasefire and de-escalation in the Gaza Strip to facilitate the release of Israeli hostages, improve humanitarian conditions, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

He strongly urged the Zionist regime to comply with international law, including international humanitarian law, such as protecting civilian lives and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Japan had previously condemned the Zionist regime’s attacks on Iran, with Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba describing them as “completely unacceptable and deeply regrettable.”
