The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, referring to the Zionist regime’s attack on an ambulance in Iran, stated that the ongoing impunity of the Israeli regime has normalized gross violations of international humanitarian law, a consequence of the indifference and inaction of entities legally and morally obligated to speak out and act.

According to the Persian edition of IRNA, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote on his X account regarding the attack on an ambulance in Tehran: “Another instance of the Zionist regime’s gross violation of international humanitarian law occurred today with the targeting of a Red Crescent ambulance in Tehran, resulting in the martyrdom of three paramedics.”

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that this was a deliberate act of killing, explaining: “Under the four Geneva Conventions, attacks on paramedics, medical personnel, and humanitarian vehicles engaged in relief operations are absolutely prohibited and constitute war crimes. The Israeli regime has a long history of attacking medical facilities, aid convoys, and medical personnel.”

Baghaei stressed: “Due to the continued impunity of the Israeli regime, gross violations of international humanitarian law have become normalized, a product of the indifference and inaction of entities legally and morally obligated to speak out and act. The United Nations Security Council must urgently act in line with its responsibilities under the UN Charter to halt the aggression and prevent further crimes.”

He added: “All governments, including Switzerland as the depositary of the Geneva Conventions, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Human Rights Council, the World Health Organization, and other relevant international bodies share a collective responsibility to ensure compliance with international humanitarian law.”

The Zionist regime, amid its ongoing aggression and attacks on Iran, targeted an ambulance in Tehran, resulting in the martyrdom of paramedics who were providing aid to affected civilians.
