It has now become entirely clear that the U.S. government has colluded with a genocidal warmonger and war criminal to launch an aggressive and unjust war against our beloved country — in blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international law, the UN Charter, and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Baghaei added: This unjustifiable act of aggression — carried out by a nuclear-armed state, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, and a custodian of the NPT, against a non-nuclear-weapon state — is a flagrant betrayal of the norms and core principles these institutions are meant to uphold.
He stated: We are determined to resolutely defend our national sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and people based on our inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and in accordance with our rights under the NPT.
