Referring to the friendly and strong relations between Iran and Qatar, Iran’s Foreign Minister emphasized the Islamic Republic’s firm commitment to continue and strengthen the comprehensive ties between the two countries based on good neighborliness and mutual interests.
Araghchi stated that the missile operation by Iran’s Armed Forces against the American Al Udeid base was carried out within the framework of legitimate self-defense, in response to the U.S. military aggression against Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty on June 22. He stressed that this action should in no way be interpreted as targeting the friendly and brotherly nation of Qatar.
Araghchi also emphasized, with reference to the hostile acts of the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran, that the Islamic Republic, through consultations with regional countries, will not allow such hostilities to damage the friendly relations between Iran and other countries in the region.
He also expressed appreciation for the positions of senior Qatari officials in condemning the aggressions of the Zionist regime and the U.S., and for Qatar’s constructive role and efforts in helping to prevent further insecurity in the region.
In the call, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country’s commitment to playing a constructive role in preserving regional peace and stability.
