Speaking at the session of the U.N.S.C. on the situation in Afghanistan on Tuesday, Iravani strongly hit out at the stances adopted by the Western members of the Council, especially the U.S., the U.K., and France for inaction on the lives of the innocent civilians.
The certain countries proved that they have no real concern for the lives of innocent people or human principles, the official said, noting that even their claims about supporting women and girls are nothing but mere slogans.
This extent of hypocrisy is truly regrettable, he said, adding that the countries justify even the Israeli regime‘s blatant aggressions under the guise of self-defense.
The threats posed by the regime’s continued and criminal aggression, carried out with the full support of the U.S., which has put the lives of millions of civilians at risk, cannot be ignored, Iravani noted.
The envoy also said that authentic reports on the recruitment of some illegal immigrants by the Israeli regime’s intelligence agencies to carry out subversive operations in Iran represented another threat during Israeli strikes on the country.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has generously hosted millions of Afghan nationals for decades, Iravani said.
However, if the Israeli regime’s aggression against Iran continues with the complicity of the U.S. and several Western countries, he said, the Islamic Republic will be forced to put the return of illegal immigrants on the agenda over the exceptional security conditions.
The U.S. attacked Iranian nuclear centers in support of Israel. The Israeli regime attacked Iran, including residential buildings in Tehran, in an unprovoked act of aggression overnight on June 13. Top Iranian military officials were assassinated in targeted strikes. Civilians died when houses were directly struck.
