The BBC’s Lyse Doucet reports from Iran’s capital city, Tehran, during what appears to be an enduring ceasefire with Israel.
Israel launched brutal, unprovoked airstrikes on Iran on June 13, targeting residential areas of several high-ranking military men. Iran immediately responded to these attacks under its legitimate right to self-defense.
The Israel-imposed war, backed by the U.S., lasted 12 days, during which more than 600 civilians lost their lives in Iran and over 5,000 were left wounded.
BBC reports that three days after the announcement of the truce, Tehran is gradually coming back to normal life.
