The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the offensive remarks and undignified behavior of the U.S. President regarding the Supreme Leader and the Iranian nation.
These derogatory statements and actions, contrary to diplomatic decorum, not only constitute a blatant violation of universal principles and values, as well as the provisions of the United Nations Charter concerning respect for the right to self-determination of nations, but also represent a clear act of disrespect toward a nation with a deep-rooted civilization, wounding the sentiments of hundreds of millions of Muslims in the region and across the world.
The statement emphasizes: “Undoubtedly, such insulting and bullying behavior and rhetoric against Iran and its respected political and religious figures, revered by Iranians and Muslims worldwide, only deepen the disgust and resentment toward the shortsighted policies of the United States and further discredit their claims of willingness for dialogue and engagement.”
