Takht-Ravanchi commented on recent claims made by U.S. officials about setting a date for negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, saying: “No agreement has been made regarding the issues being raised. What the Americans are saying is not true.”
The U.S. President recently claimed that negotiations with Iranian officials may take place and an agreement might be signed within the current week. Following Trump’s claim, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated: “Whenever a date for the negotiations is set, it will be announced.”
Steven Witkoff, the U.S. Special Envoy for Middle Eastern Affairs, also said after Trump’s remarks that he has a strong sense that Iran is ready to reach an agreement and expressed hope for achieving a comprehensive peace deal with the country.
