The Haaretz newspaper wrote on Monday: The primary goal of the war against Iran, as stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program and its existential threat. Questions remain about the extent of the damage caused by these attacks. There is near consensus, based on data from the European Union, U.S., and Israeli intelligence agencies, that Tehran still possesses quantities of uranium enriched to 60%. Only U.S. President Donald Trump holds a different view.
The newspaper stated: Iran has enough enriched uranium to potentially produce several atomic bombs. Iran’s nuclear program has been delayed by only a few months, not destroyed. The second goal of the war was the destruction of Iran’s ballistic missile program, which Netanyahu considers an existential threat. Claims of destroying Iran’s ability to produce ballistic missiles were quickly abandoned after the war ended. A senior military official noted the lack of intelligence to support such claims.
Haaretz added: Neither the military nor Netanyahu claim that Iran’s missile program has been eliminated. The highest estimates suggest that up to 60% of missile launch platforms were destroyed. Iran still possesses hundreds of ballistic missiles and launch platforms.
The newspaper further noted: In the midst of the war, Netanyahu added preventing Iran’s financial support for resistance movements to the war’s objectives when excitement peaked. However, there are no restrictions preventing Iran from continuing to support Ansarullah, Hezbollah, Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces, and Hamas.
Haaretz wrote: Israel launched a media deception campaign regarding the damage caused by Iran’s attacks. The truth is that Israelis have also backed down. It is no coincidence that Trump repeatedly says both sides are exhausted.
Previously, a Zionist regime intelligence officer stated that they were surprised by Iran’s persistence and resilience.
He said: Iran is not on the nuclear precipice. Iran can rebuild its enrichment facilities.
