Ali Robat-Jazi, Iran’s ambassador to Brussels and simultaneously its representative to the EU, reacted to a message from Kaja Kallas, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, who had expressed support for Rafael Grossi on the issue of Iran’s nuclear program.
In a message posted on his X account, Iran’s ambassador wrote:
“Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the IAEA, claims to be the guardian of the NPT and the Safeguards Agreement. However, he did not condemn the U.S. and Israel’s armed attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.” He added that Grossi is not impartial and shows deep bias against Iran, as well as strong loyalty to the United States.
Israel launched missile strikes on Iran on June 13 — an unprovoked war that lasted 12 days, during which more than 900 civilians lost their lives. However, Rafael Grossi never condemned the act of aggression against Iran’s nuclear facilities by the U.S. and Israel. Instead, he continues to pressure Iran to allow IAEA inspectors to visit the sites.
For Iran, the illogical, Israeli-imposed war resulted from a biased and ambiguous report issued by Grossi.
