Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani asserted: “The violation of Iraq’s airspace by the Zionist regime is an assault on our sovereignty and a violation of the United Nations Charter. We have lodged a formal complaint with the UN Security Council in this regard.”
Speaking with the BBC news network, he added: “Iraq has adopted a balanced diplomacy and has conveyed messages to our friends about the dangers of the regional situation and that our sovereignty is non-negotiable.”
The Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized: “Efforts to collapse the Islamic Republic of Iran’s regime will have dangerous consequences for the entire region.”
Al-Sudani continued: “The expansion of the war could have harmed Iraq’s security and stability and impacted energy supplies and oil exports to regional countries.”
He stressed: “The supreme religious authority in Najaf issued a statement warning of the dangers of continuing the war, and the government succeeded in keeping Iraq out of the conflict.”
He also noted: “Iraq supports the Palestinian cause, and we have managed to maintain the government’s authority over decisions regarding peace and war.”
The Iraqi Prime Minister added: “We have good relations with both Iran and the United States, and both sides understand the importance of Iraq’s stability.”
