Emphasizing the necessity to pursue diplomatic solutions, China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs announced that military attacks do not solve Iran’s nuclear program.

Wang Yi, who is in Paris, France, as part of his European tour, said that the U.S.’s military attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities could result in nuclear disaster threats. He noted that war cannot end Iran’s nuclear program.

The Chinese minister had previously met and talked with Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Johann Wadephul, Germany’s Foreign Minister.

In a joint conference with Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi criticized the Zionist regime’s and the U.S.’s military attack on Iran. He said:

“Preemptive military attacks are illegal. Using excessive force contributes to the intensification of conflicts and hatred. The U.S.’s careless attack on the nuclear facilities of an independent country has created a bad trend. If the attacks lead to a nuclear disaster, the whole world would have to pay the price.”

China’s senior official emphasized the need to prevent the repetition of military attacks by the Zionist regime on Iran and said that:
“Military violation cannot solve Iran’s nuclear issue.”

Wang Yi expressed confidence that Tehran would not move on a path leading to the development of a nuclear weapon and said that Beijing respects Iran’s right to use peaceful nuclear energy.

“Force will not bring peace, but may cause the opening of Pandora’s box.”
