President Pezeshkian: The claim that Iran is making a nuclear bomb is a lie

“Enemies assert that Iran should not be allowed to build a nuclear weapon. But we have no intention of doing so,” Pezeshkian said. “Despite this, they have fostered an atmosphere suggesting that Iran seeks to develop an atomic bomb.”

Speaking on Tuesday, June 22, at a national event titled Forever Iran, President Pezeshkian also criticized Persian-language media outlets operating outside Iran.

“Sometimes, when I watch these programs, I cannot continue listening,” he remarked. “I wonder how someone can lose their sense of humanity and speak in such a way.”

Turning to the actions of the Israeli regime, Pezeshkian condemned its conduct, stating: “They have created a country where people can attack and kill anyone at will. Can such crimes truly be tolerated?”
Addressing the accusations about Iran’s nuclear intentions, he reiterated:

“The enemy claims Iran should not be allowed to build an atomic bomb. We do not intend to make one. Yet they have promoted this narrative to suggest otherwise. Why do they attack civilians and hospitals? Wasn’t the accusation that Iran planned to build a bomb? So why target innocent people? The claim that Iran was building a nuclear weapon was a lie. We have never sought to create such a bomb.”
Reflecting on the Iranian people’s patriotism, Pezeshkian acknowledged shortcomings in governance but praised the nation’s unity and resilience:

“We may not have always treated our people well, yet they stood strong whenever the fate of Iran was at stake. They set aside their differences to defend this land. We salute their nobility, dignity, and pride.”

He concluded with a pledge of commitment:
“We will do everything in our power for these people, sincerely. We honor the beloved people of Iran and those who have never abandoned their country, even when they had every reason to be dissatisfied.”

The Forever Iran program was held to commemorate the martyrs of culture, art, and media who lost their lives during the sacred 12-day war against the Zionist regime, and to honor their families.

President Pezeshkian denounced the widespread violations of human rights committed during the conflict, particularly the killing of women and children, and sharply criticized the West’s double standards.

“We live in a world where the concept of human rights and the role of international organizations are nothing but a lie,” he declared.
Highlighting the suffering of children caught in war zones, he said:

“Look at the children who are dying of hunger. And yet, we have institutions supposedly dedicated to protecting the rights of children.”
He continued:

“In today’s so-called civilized world, access to water and food is being deliberately blocked. Genocide is being committed, while those responsible still claim to be defenders of human rights.”
