Addressing the weekly press briefing of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said: “The Foreign Ministry is in contact with the political leaders of three European countries. We do not rule out the possibility of another round of negotiations. However, no decision has been made in this regard so far.”

He stressed that talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will continue, noting that another round of discussions is expected in the coming days.
Regarding the visit of Massimo Aparo, the IAEA Deputy Director-General, Baghaei explained: “The talks are aimed at determining the framework of interaction between Iran and the IAEA following the U.S. aggression against Iran. It is unprecedented for a country’s peaceful nuclear facilities to come under attack and then be subject to inspection. The dialogue is ongoing, and further talks will be held in the coming days.”

Asked whether the next round of talks will be held in Tehran, Baghaei responded: “It does not matter whether they come here or we go there. What matters is that the dialogue between Iran and the IAEA will continue, and another round of talks will take place soon.”
The spokesperson emphasized that interaction with the IAEA remains in place: “The level of engagement has changed, but we maintain direct ties with the Agency.”
On remarks made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Iran’s water situation, Baghaei said: “A party accused of water theft is not in a position to speak on such issues.”

Russia–U.S. Meeting in Alaska

Commenting on the upcoming meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States in Alaska, Baghaei stated: “We welcome any initiative. From the very beginning, we have emphasized that disputes should be resolved peacefully. The U.S., given its bad track record in international negotiations, must work hard to build confidence.”

Recognition of the Taliban

Asked when Iran might recognize the Taliban, Baghaei said: “We will make a decision based on our national interests and benefits.”

Embassies Operating in Iran

Addressing questions about the status of the German, Swedish, and British embassies in Tehran, Baghaei clarified that all three are operating normally and that rumors about their closure are baseless.
“These rumors emerged two weeks ago and were fueled last night following the farewell of Germany’s ambassador,” he added.
He further said: “We are closely monitoring regional developments. The most important issue in the region is the ongoing genocide in occupied Palestine. In recent days, we have witnessed the occupying regime’s decision to evacuate Gaza and forcibly displace residents to the south of the Strip. Every day, at least 70–80 innocent people are killed. The international community has reacted to the forced displacement of Gaza’s population and has taken a serious stance. Israel, emboldened by U.S. support and its sense of impunity, continues to commit crimes.”

Baghaei reacts to developments in the Caucasus

Commenting on developments in the Caucasus region, Baghaei said: “We have made it clear that we are sensitive to the presence and interference of extra-regional actors in the South Caucasus. We have explicitly conveyed our concerns to our Armenian friends and listened to their explanations.”
“They have assured us that their cooperation with the U.S. will be limited to an American company registered in Armenia. The statement signed by both sides emphasizes national and territorial sovereignty.”
