President Masoud Pezeshkian has urged Iran and Armenia to act in such a way that no foreign power can disrupt the friendly and strategic relations between the two countries.

Speaking in a meeting with visiting Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan on Saturday, Pezeshkian said that Iran’s concerns regarding recent developments in the Caucasus region, particularly the issue of foreign forces’ presence in this sensitive region, have been largely alleviated through the reassurances provided by Armenian officials

He also expressed his satisfaction with the outcomes of his recent visit to Yerevan, describing the trip as successful and fruitful. He lauded the progress in implementing the North-South Corridor, thanks to the special attention of Armenian officials in this regard.

Pezeshkian described the finalization of this project as an important step in strengthening economic and even political convergence among member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

“The goals we set today can outline bright horizons and an expansive vision for the two nations,” he stated.

By boosting the capacities of their elites and academics, the two countries can move beyond the level of goods exchange and step towards joint production of technological and competitive products in advanced technologies, biotechnology, and nanotechnology, Pezeshkian said.

Meanwhile, Grigoryan thanked the Iranian president for his commitment to developing bilateral relations, considering this approach valuable for his country.

Your visit to Yerevan was of particular importance to the Armenian government, he stressed, saying that all aspects of the bilateral relations were thoroughly reviewed, and the path for future cooperation was clearly outlined.

Yerevan is ready to sign the prospects of these relations in the form of a comprehensive strategic cooperation document.

Grigoryan also referred to the active presence of Iranian companies in Armenia and expressed hope that infrastructure and development projects in Armenia would be martialized with their participation.

Armenia is ready to increase the volume of economic exchanges with Iran several times over the current level, he reiterated.
