The delegation includes ambassadors and envoys from European, Asian, African, and South American countries such as Brazil, Kenya, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Denmark, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, South Korea, Italy, Norway, and Germany, along with two UNESCO representatives. They arrived in Shiraz in the early hours of Saturday. Diplomats from Poland, Spain, Armenia, and Sweden had already reached the city a day earlier.
The Armenia Philharmonic Orchestra will perform tonight at the historical site of Persepolis to mark the centenary of its foundation. Around 1,500 people from inside and outside Iran are expected to attend, while several international media outlets will cover the event.
The Armenia Philharmonic Orchestra is the national orchestra of Armenia. Mehdi Pashaee, deputy director of tourism in Fars Province, said the Armenian ambassador had proposed hosting the concert in Iran. “The event will be held for one night in Shiraz, as the orchestra is scheduled to perform in several other countries,” he added.
He emphasized that the costs are fully covered by the Armenian government, with Fars Province only acting as the host. Pashaee described the concert as a cultural gift from the people of Armenia to the people of Iran. “A total of 1,500 seats have been allocated for the event, including 300 for foreign guests. Four hundred free tickets were distributed through the Iranian website Irantic.com,” he explained.
The Persepolis site, dating back to the Achaemenid Empire, is regarded as a national treasure and a symbol of Iranian identity. Ahead of the concert, the ambassadors and diplomatic representatives are scheduled to visit Hafeziyeh, Sa’adiyeh, and Delgosha Garden before proceeding to Persepolis.
