10 Iranian films selected for Oscar nomination

The ten films were chosen by the Oscar Selection Committee at the Farabi Cinema Foundation. The films were selected by a jury board including Pantea Panahiha, Abolhassan Davoudi, Ali Dehkordi, and Farhad Touhidi.
The Old Bachelor is among the top ten best-selling movies of the current Iranian year (which started on March 21, 2025). It is about an abusive father who lives with his two sons and narrates their issues.
Iran has previously won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film with Asghar Farhadi’s “A Separation.”
