The Spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, in his weekly briefing, said that “Europe should show its independence regarding Iran’s nuclear issue.”

Esmaeil Baqaei announced that Iran’s Foreign Minister will hold talks today with his counterparts from the UK, Germany, and France, as well as the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Europeans do not even accept the IAEA
Asked what Iran expects from the three European nations following the recent agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Baqaei said: “We agreed on a framework to fulfill our safeguard commitments under the new circumstances. It was not a one-sided agreement and was acknowledged by the IAEA director-general. Now, as some European countries criticize this deal as insufficient, it shows they apparently do not accept the agency itself. We hope that through dialogue and consultations, we can all realize that escalating tensions and misusing the situation benefits no one.”
Baqaei also said Iran welcomes Iraq’s proposal to hold a joint meeting with Persian Gulf Cooperation Council member states: “We welcome any initiative that helps regional countries get closer and build mutual understanding.”

On Gaza and Palestine
Baqaei condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza, calling them “a blatant genocide,” and criticized U.S. complicity: “At the same time the U.S. Secretary of State was in the occupied territories, the Israeli regime launched another ground attack, destroying residential buildings and killing many civilians.”
He also recalled the anniversary of the pager explosions in Lebanon, describing it as “an unprecedented terrorist crime carried out with a communication device, which killed or injured many innocent people.”
Baqaei said normalization of ties with Israel means “normalizing crime and violations.” He urged all countries, especially Muslim nations, to reconsider their relations with Israel.

A regional consensus is forming
Baqaei said regional states increasingly recognize the Zionist regime as the main threat to peace and security, noting that the Doha meeting reflected this shared concern: “A regional consensus is emerging that countering Israel’s warmongering requires a collective move, without interference from extra-regional powers.”

U.S. restrictions on Iranian delegation
Baqaei criticized the U.S. for unprecedented restrictions on Iran’s delegation to the UN General Assembly: “These limitations blatantly violate U.S. obligations as host of the United Nations.”
He noted that some visas have been issued but decisions on delegation members are pending.

On terrorism
Referring to the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk in the U.S., Baqaei said: “This incident reflects deep polarization in American society. But unlike the U.S. and its allies, who use assassination as a tool against opponents, we condemn terrorism everywhere.”
