President Masoud Pezeshkian has rung the bell in western Tehran to mark the beginning of the new school year in Iran.

Pezeshkian attended a ceremony at a school in western Tehran on Tuesday to mark the symbolic start of the new school year nationwide.

In a move to inspire the students, the President took part in a number of classes to hold friendly talks with students.

During the ceremony, Pezeshkian urged the students to equip themselves with knowledge and skills, which he said could help resolve society’s woes.

Acquiring knowledge is never finished, he said, calling on Iranian students to stick to constructive activities that could serve humanity.

The new school year in Iran begins the first day of Mehr — the seventh month of the Iranian calendar year, which usually falls on September 23.
