Iranian climber wins bronze at World Championships

The Iranian climber secured fourth place at the World Climbing Championships in South Korea.

The match was held in Seol on Thursday, where Alipour completed the course in 4.948 seconds. He narrowly missed out on third place against an American competitor who clocked 4.932 seconds. Athletes from China and Germany took the second-place positions.

Alipour’s performance highlights his status as one of the top speed climbers on the global stage and marks a significant achievement for Iran in the sport.

The 2025 IFSC Climbing World Championships are under way in Seoul with the finals starting from Wednesday 24 September. There are six sport climbing gold medals to be won across three disciplines, with the men and women competing in the lead, boulder and speed events.
