120 Iranians will be returning home from the United States in the coming days following deportation orders by US immigration authorities.

Hossein Noushabadi, Director General for Parliamentary and Consular Affairs at Iran’s Foreign Ministry explained that Washington initially intended to deport around 400 Iranians currently residing in the US, many of whom had entered the country illegally.

However, US authorities have so far finalized deportation decisions for 120 individuals, who are expected to arrive in Iran within the next one or two days.

According to Noushabadi, the Iranian Foreign Ministry has pursued the matter both through the Interests Section of Iran in the US and the US Interests Section in Tehran by exchanging official notes.

He stressed that Iran remains committed to supporting its nationals abroad, adding that the country will provide necessary consular services to the citizens returning to the homeland.
