On the evening of September 29, the National Orchestra of Iran presented a concert at Vahdat Hall titled “Rostamzad”, a composition for string orchestra.

The performance unfolded across 17 musical scenes, narrating episodes from the Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh (written between c. 977 and 1010 CE). The storyline begins with the birth of Zal and culminates in the birth of Rostam, the legendary hero of Ferdowsi’s epic. The two-night orchestral event was composed and guest-conducted by Amir Pourkhalaji.
