Salehi competed on Wednesday in the women’s javelin throw event, class F54, on the fifth day of the championships.
She recorded throws of 16.82 meters, 16.51 meters, and 16.13 meters, with her fourth and sixth attempts declared invalid. On her fifth attempt, she managed a 17.06-meter throw, securing the world championship title and the gold medal.
Competitors from Mexico finished in second and third places in the event.
Zeinab Moradi is scheduled to compete in the women’s javelin throw later in the day, and Hajar Safarzadeh, a visually impaired national athlete, is set to contest the 400-meter final.
