Iran women’s volleyball team wins Central Asian title after beating Uzbekistan

Iran clinched the title in the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Championship on Sunday, defeating hosts Uzbekistan in a straight-sets final to secure the trophy without dropping a single set throughout the tournament.

The championship, which began on October 1 in the Uzbek capital Tashkent, concluded with the Iranian national team claiming a dominant 3-0 victory (25-14, 25-14, and 25-19) over Uzbekistan.

This marks the second time in the competition that Iran beat Uzbekistan, having also overcome them in the preliminary round.

The Iranian squad had progressed to the final after a flawless preliminary stage, securing three consecutive victories and nine points as group leaders. In earlier matches, they defeated Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
