The Iranian short film “Khu”, directed, written and produced by Mohammad-Reza Nourmandi-Pour, has won the Best Film award at the 20th edition of the Shorts Mexico Festival.

The Shorts Mexico Festival, established in 2006, was created to provide a dedicated platform for showcasing short films, particularly national productions. The festival has become a respected public platform, independent of any political affiliation, supporting the creative expression of both emerging and experienced filmmakers worldwide. It is considered one of the most prestigious film festivals in Latin America.

The festival was held from September 1–30 in Mexico.

Khu has previously been screened at the 34th Festival Curta Cinema, the 28th edition of the Brussels Film Festival, the 28th International Zoom Film Festival in Poland, and the 2nd International Fear No Film Festival in the United States.

The film tells the story of a father who, after the death of his wife, tries to raise his son according to his own rules and ways.
