Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, said that producing radiopharmaceuticals will not stop, and the construction of eight nuclear power plants in cooperation with Russia is on the agenda.

According to MP Ebrahim Rezaei, the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission held a meeting on Tuesday with Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), to review the country’s latest nuclear achievements and related developments.

Eslami reported on damages inflicted on nuclear facilities during the recent 12-day Israeli imposed war and outlined measures taken to strengthen them. He also presented the outcomes of his recent visit to Russia.

Rezaei quoted Eslami as saying that radiopharmaceutical production in Iran has never stopped and will not be halted. He added that between 2022 and 2024, around 500 scientific and technological achievements have been made, many of which have had a direct impact on people’s lives and the national economy.

Regarding his trip to Russia, Eslami said that Iran and Russia have a protocol for the construction of eight nuclear power plants—one of which is operational, two under construction, and five more planned in Hormozgan Province with a total capacity of 5,000 megawatts.

Eslami also criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for failing to adequately protect Iran’s confidential information, despite repeated warnings. He emphasized that political negotiations remain under the authority of the Foreign Ministry, guided by the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).

Rezaei also added that the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission is preparing a plan to respond to the European troika’s activation of the snapback mechanism.
