Director General of Iran Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Pharmaceutical Affairs Akbar Abdollahiasl emphasized that 95 percent of anticancer drugs are produced by the domestic producers.
Turning to the government’s supportive policies for the domestic production, he noted that some physicians and patients are inclined to use foreign-brand drugs, but based on upstream policies and in order to strengthen national production, import of some of these drugs has been restricted as similar foreign drugs are produced inside the country.
