Avash News: The event was attended by Zahra Behrouz-Azar, Deputy President for Women and Family Affairs; Behrouz Shoeibi, Director General of Iran’s Youth Cinema Association and the festival’s secretary; as well as Hamid Jebbeli, screenwriter and director; and Seifollah Samadian, filmmaker, cinematographer, and Chairman of the Photographers’ Association.
Awards were presented in several categories, including Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Animation, Best Experimental Film, Best Narration, Best Documentary, Best Production Design, Best Sound, Best Cinematography, Best Director, the Audience Award, and the Best Film in the International Section.
The festival’s top prize — a $2,000 cash award — was presented to the short film Criterion, directed by Martin Siger from Chile.
The film will now be eligible for direct submission to the Academy Awards.
