Iran’s position has always been clear with regard to the missile and regional issues, Araghchi said speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
In response to a question regarding Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi’s trip to Oman, he said the tour was aimed for periodic political talks.
Regarding the two French nationals imprisoned in Iran, he said they had been convicted as spies, and the judiciary announced on Tuesday night that they have been granted Islamic clemency.
Mahdieh Esfandiari, an Iranian national, has also been released and is at Iran’s embassy, he said.
Esfandiari, who had lived in France for nearly eight years, mysteriously disappeared on March 1, 2025, prompting her family to alert Iranian authorities.
Subsequent consular follow-ups revealed that French police had arrested her. Esfandiari’s detention was under the pretext of her activity on a pro-Palestine Telegram channel.
