Iran has a high potential to become one of the world’s major tourist destinations

Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Reza Salehi-Amiri has met with Zurab Pololikashvili, the Secretary-General of the UN Tourism, in Riyadh.

During the meeting which was held on the sidelines of the 26th General Assembly of the UN Tourism, Salehi-Amiri, appreciated the effective role of the secretary-general in managing the activities of the UN Tourism.

He also referred to his more than four decades of experience participating in international bodies and cooperation with different high-ranking officials in Europe and Asia.

The positive perception that the Iranians have of him is the result of Pololikashvili’s professional conduct, honesty, and humane perspective, he added.

Iran’s close cooperation with the UN Tourism has always been based on mutual respect and trust, he stated.

Meanwhile, Pololikashvili said Iran has always been one of the active and reliable partners of the UN Tourism.

He lauded Iran’s constructive participation in the UN Tourism’s programs and strategic decisions.

Iran is a beautiful, safe country with a rich culture and has high potential to become one of the world’s major tourist destinations, he stressed.
