The event, marking the 20th anniversary of Momayez’s passing, was held Friday night at the Iranian Artists Forum with the participation of Iranian cultural figures and Pierre Cochard, France’s ambassador to Iran.
The ceremony included an exhibition showcasing the influential designer’s professional life and work.
Cochard said Momayez had an unparalleled contribution to modern Iranian graphic design and noted that Iran has reached a uniquely dynamic stage in this field, which he said is due to his talent and efforts to train new generations of designers.
He added that the commemoration served as an opportunity to strengthen close cultural relations between Iran and France in the field of graphic arts.
Momayez, he noted, was educated in France and studied at prestigious schools in Paris.
Throughout his career, he maintained professional and friendly ties with prominent French graphic designers, either directly or through the International Graphic Association, where he was the first Iranian member.
