Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance has described the Fajr International Film Festival as an opportunity to foster sustainable cooperation among the world’s cinematographers.

Avash News: In a message issued on the occasion of the 43rd edition of the Fajr International Film Festival, Abbas Salehi highlighted the festival’s role in promoting cultural engagement with other countries.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran believes in the power of art to deepen mutual understanding and coexistence among nations and considers the Fajr International Film Festival an opportunity to exchange experiences, explore new approaches, and establish lasting cooperation among the world’s cinematographers.”

He wrote, “Cinema is a universal language—an art that transcends borders and invites humanity to engage in dialogue through images. The Fajr International Film Festival has been founded on this very principle; an event that seeks to bring together diverse cinematic perspectives in a shared space and create opportunities for deeper understanding in today’s world.”

“Iranian cinema has always emphasized ethics, human dignity, and poetic expression—a tradition that has played a defining role in shaping its identity and continues to inspire younger generations of artists.”

The 43rd edition of the Fajr International Film Festival began on November 26 and will run until December 3.
