Avash News: Germany’s envoy to the UN, Ricklef Beutin, referred to the activation of the snapback mechanism by European countries against Iran, as well as the continuation of talks aimed at finding a solution. In remarks described as unfounded, he stated: “We have been in contact with the Iranians for years. We have never seen sufficient measures from Iran during this time, and Iran has violated all of its commitments.”
He added: “For that reason, after repeated warnings, we activated the snapback mechanism. But this is not the end of diplomacy. That is why we remain ready to negotiate with Iran.”
Speaking to Al Arabiya, he said: “We welcome negotiations. The Iranians must change their position; there is no disagreement on this. Member states of the United Nations must take the necessary steps to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and provide transparency about their nuclear programs and materials.”
