Pakistan’s FM Spokesman: Pakistan welcomes strategic cooperation with Iran

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that the visit of Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council to Islamabad has further strengthened the positive trajectory of bilateral relations. He emphasized that the Iran–Pakistan gas pipeline project remains on the agenda of both sides.

Avash News: Taher Andarabi noted that Ali Larijani met with several senior Pakistani officials, including the National Security Advisor, the President, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of Parliament and the Deputy Prime Minister.

He said the two sides discussed a broad array of issues such as political engagement, trade and economic cooperation, counterterrorism and border security, regional connectivity, as well as cultural and public exchanges.

The Pakistani diplomat added that both sides agreed to deepen their relations and contribute to peace and stability in the region.

“The two sides also exchanged views on key regional and international developments and underscored the importance of close cooperation and the peaceful resolution of disputes in order to advance their shared goals of stability and progress,” the spokesman said.

He stressed that Iran and Pakistan are determined to continue their cooperation in regional and multilateral frameworks. He added that the visit further strengthened the positive trend in bilateral relations, paving the way for enhanced cooperation and greater mutual understanding.

He reiterated that the Iran–Pakistan gas pipeline project remains on the agenda and that the issue can be resolved through mutual understanding.
