President Masoud Pezeshkian says that cohesion, mutual support, and effective criticism are essential for steering the country through its current difficulties and laying the groundwork for lasting reforms.

Speaking at the 65th general assembly of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) on Wednesday, Pezeshkian praised the efforts of the former CBI Governor Mohammadreza Farzin and said genuine solidarity alongside constructive criticism could help ease the path out of challenging conditions facing the country.

He said assuming responsibility as the new CBI governor in the current environment was “extremely difficult and complex,” noting that the new CBI chief would inevitably face intense pressure and widespread criticism.

Pezeshkian: People Criticism Are Valid

Pezeshkian stressed that such criticism should be effective and aimed at improvement rather than weakening governance.

The president also pointed to external pressures being exerted on Iran, while warning that internal divisions could exacerbate existing strains.

Emphasizing the need to recognize strengths and achievements alongside shortcomings, he said, reinforcing unity and focusing on positive performance were key to overcoming crises and mounting pressures.
