In a statement released on Tuesday, the Secretariat of the Supreme Defense Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemned the escalation of threatening language and interventionist remarks directed against the country.
The statement emphasized that Iran’s security, independence, and territorial integrity constitute an unbreakable red line, warning that any act of aggression or the persistence of hostile conduct will be met with a proportionate, firm, and decisive response.
The Secretariat further noted that within the framework of legitimate self-defense, the Islamic Republic of Iran does not limit itself solely to responding after an action has taken place.
According to the statement, clear and tangible signs of threat are considered part of Iran’s security equation, underscoring a security approach based on deterrence and preparedness.
The text of the statement issued by the Secretariat of the Defense Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
The long-standing enemies of this land — who have repeatedly and openly claimed responsibility for the killing of Iranian women and children — are pursuing a deliberate course of action through the repetition and intensification of threatening rhetoric and interventionist statements, in clear contradiction with accepted principles of international law. Their approach is aimed at disintegrating beloved Iran and undermining the foundations of the nation. This path is not merely a declaration of political positions, but rather part of a broader pattern of pressure and intimidation, which cannot be regarded as cost-free, unanswered, or detached from realities on the ground.
Relying on national cohesion, comprehensive deterrent capability, and full defensive preparedness, the Islamic Republic of Iran once again affirms that the security, independence, and territorial integrity of the country constitute an inviolable red line. Any violation of national interests, interference in internal affairs, or action against Iran’s stability will face a proportionate, purposeful, and decisive reaction. Within the framework of legitimate defense, the Islamic Republic of Iran does not confine itself solely to post-attack responses and considers concrete indicators of threat as part of its security calculus. The escalation of threatening and interventionist rhetoric — which goes beyond mere verbal positioning — may be construed as hostile conduct. Continuation of such a course will entail a proportionate, firm, and decisive response, and full responsibility for its consequences lies with the architects of this trajectory.
