Araghchi: Conditions are not suitable for negotiations

Responding to a question on whether negotiations are possible in the near future, Araghchi said that the conditions are not suitable for negotiations at the moment, and that this is the result of the United States’ wrong policies.

“Iran has never left the negotiating table. We have always been ready for negotiations based on respect and mutual interests,” Araghchi said.
Regarding his upcoming trip to Lebanon, Araghchi said, “We have had historical relations with Lebanon, and these relations exist with the entire system of government in Lebanon.”
He emphasized, “We are seeking to expand our relations with the country. Both sides are motivated in this regard. An economic delegation will also accompany us to review the economic and trade aspects of relations between the two countries. We hope to restore our very good ties.”
The Foreign Minister referred to the measures taken by the ministry in the field of economic diplomacy and said, “The Deputy for Economic Diplomacy is the most active sector of the Foreign Ministry. We are working hard to develop trade and economic cooperation, particularly with our neighbors in the region. Our provincial diplomacy aims to identify the capacities of the provinces so that we can match them with the capacities of neighboring countries and establish connections.”
Araghchi said that all provinces have now requested to form such collaborations. “Iran has many potentials that have not yet been utilized. Among our neighbors, we also have very good economic capacities, and our main policy is to connect these potentials so that we can contribute to our country’s economy under the current conditions.”
The top official said, “We have not forgotten our other duty, which is lifting the sanctions. Whenever there is an opportunity, this duty will definitely be carried out with respect and dignity.”
