Avash News: The closing-day ceremony of Eʿtikāf at Imam Sadeq Mosque.
Eʿtikāf is observed on the 13th, 14th, and 15th days of each lunar month, known as Ayyām al-Bīḍ. The word ayyām is the plural of yawm (day), and bīḍ is the plural of abyad, meaning white and radiant.
In Islamic law and jurisprudence, Eʿtikāf refers to a three-day stay in a congregational mosque for the worship of God and the purification of the soul.
The supplication of Umm Dāwūd is the most important ritual performed on the final day of Eʿtikāf.
