“Israel and its partner-in-crime believe that knowledge can be bombed away,” Araghchi wrote on his X account on Sunday.
“It’s reflected in the murders of Iran’s scientists and attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites, and now universities,” he added.
“Reality check: your actions ooze of desperation and only inspire more pursuit of knowledge,” he stated.
Earlier on Sunday, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, said that the attack on universities is a sign of American-Israeli enmity towards the scientific advancement of Iranians.
Targeting universities and scientific centers, the diplomat said, is not conventional in any war, unless the enemy has reached such a state of desperation that it foolishly imagines it can block the flow of science and industry through the physical destruction of a scientific place.
The American-Zionist forces bombed Iran’s universities multiple times, including the University of Science and Technology in Tehran, Iran’s capital, on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
