Avash News: In his weekly briefing, Esmaeil Baqaei said that over the past 7–8 days, many developments have occurred regarding diplomacy, particularly negotiations focused on ending the war or reaching a so-called truce.
“We do not have any plan for the next round of negotiations, and no decision has yet been made in this regard,” Baqaei said.
The official said that Iran is facing nagging by the United States, unfortunately.
The diplomat said that in recent hours, an attack occurred against a trade ship owned by Iran, which is a blatant violation of the truce.
The senior official said that decisions regarding negotiations will be made while taking into consideration the interests and benefits of the people.
“If the US and Israel commit new acts of adventurism, our armed forces have the capability to respond,” Baqaei said.
Baqaei said that, in pursuing Iran’s national interests, the country does not believe in any ultimatum or dead end.
“We did not start the war, and if Israel and the US commit acts of adventurism, we have the capability to respond,” the official said.
Baqaei also reacted to the deployment of an American delegation to Pakistan and said that it is an issue related to them.
“It is obvious that we do not see any sign of seriousness in the US. We also do not see seriousness among the Americans in advancing diplomacy. They are dictating terms rather than engaging in diplomacy in its conventional meaning,” he said.
The official noted that proposals by the US are still being examined by Iran.
Baqaei said that Iran understands that some countries have suffered damage, but they should not misdirect blame and criticize Iran.
“Iran’s actions regarding the Strait of Hormuz comply with international law because we were attacked by the US and Israel,” he said.
Baqaei added that Iran’s actions are in line with self-defense and safeguarding its national interests.
Baqaei said that Iran’s soil is sacred and that enriched uranium is of high importance.
“The lives and property of Iranians are sacred. Whatever is dear to the thoughts, identity, and pride of Iranians is sacred and valuable to us.”
“The transfer of enriched uranium has never been our plan,” Baqaei said.
Regarding Trump’s claim that he had shut out Iranians, Baqaei said that such an opportunity has not been provided and will not be provided.
On the foreign minister’s post on X about the Strait of Hormuz, Baqaei said that the minister’s post on the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz was part of the deal. Therefore, after the truce in Lebanon, Iran showed that it is committed to its obligations.
“The tweet was not a new deal. It merely confirmed that Iran is committed to its obligations regarding the Strait of Hormuz,” Baqaei said.
“As long as the current situation remains, we cannot decide on the normalization of traffic at Hormuz unilaterally.”
The official said that a war condition is still underway and that from the beginning they had witnessed violations of the truce by the US. Targeting ships and ports in Iran has complicated the situation.
Baqaei said that Iran’s missile capability will never be the subject of negotiations.
“Iran does not have any enmity with any country in the region and is defending its sovereignty,” the official said.
“We should not turn blind eye on the Zionist regime and should know that it recognizes no limitations regarding its expansionism.”
He said it would be a lethal mistake by the Zionist regime and would have implications for other countries.
