Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has emphasized that he is eagerly looking forward to holding productive meetings with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi with the aim of strengthening regional peace and stability.

In a post on X on Friday, following Araghchi’s arrival in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar wrote that he was pleased to join Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in welcoming the Iranian foreign minister upon his arrival.

The Pakistani foreign minister wrote: “Pleased to receive and welcome my brother, Foreign Minister of Iran, H. E. Abbas Araghchi, to Islamabad, alongside Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Look forward to our meaningful engagements aimed at promoting regional peace and stability.”

Araghchi arrived in Islamabad early Saturday for meetings with senior Pakistani officials as part of a trip aimed at close coordination between the two countries on bilateral issues and consultations on regional developments. The trip will also take Araghchi to Oman and Russia.

Before departing for Pakistan, Araghchi outlined the goals of his tour in a post on X, writing: “Embarking on timely tour of Islamabad, Muscat, and Moscow. Purpose of my visits is to closely coordinate with our partners on bilateral matters and consult on regional developments. Our neighbors are our priority.”

Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei had announced Araghchi’s planned visits to Islamabad, Moscow, and Muscat, noting that discussions would also address the latest efforts to end the US-Israeli imposed war on Iran, and broader initiatives to promote regional peace and stability.
