Official: $199m worth of goods exported from southwest Iran

Some 630,000 tons of goods worth $199 million were exported during the first month of the current Iranian calendar year (starting March 21, 2026), a provincial official says.

The Supervisor of Customs of Khuzestan in the southwest Iran, Behrouz Qarehbeigi, said that the amount of imports to the province during the same period stood at 874,000 tons worth $360 million.

He noted that the revenue for the first month of this year was 68,896 billion rials, showing a 409% growth compared to the same period last year.

He added that 221,000 tons of goods were exported to neighboring Iraq, one of Khuzestan’s key trade destinations, adding that the value of goods exported to Iraq was $60.783 million.

Khuzestan’s total exports last year were recorded at $5 billion.

The main export goods from the province to target countries include light polyethylene, steel billets, propane, urea fertilizer, liquefied gas, pentane, iron concentrate, natural gas, steel slabs, light hydrocarbons, and agricultural products.
