Avash News: Photos taken by Mira Ghorbanifar, an Avash News reporter in Minab, show that these bereaved family members have gathered together every night for more than 40 days, likely to keep the memory of their loved ones alive and help each other find peace.
On February 28, 2026, the US and Israel launched a war of choice against Iran by assassinating the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and a number of senior army commanders. On the same day, three Tomahawk missiles struck an elementary school in the city of Minab, resulting in the deaths of more than 168 people, including 120 children between the ages of 7 and 12.
The Minab school tragedy is probably the saddest story of this war.
Now, the families of these young victims, likely in an effort to help one another bear the heavy burden of losing their loved ones, gather together every night at the graveyard where their loved ones are buried, spending long, dark nights together.
