In a statement on Saturday, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which is responsible for planning, coordinating, and deploying the Armed Forces, said that all commercial vessels, oil tankers, and other ships must use designated routes and abide by the prescribed guidelines while sailing through the strait.
The statement underlined the need for all vessels to obtain prior permission from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy for transiting the waterway, cautioning that failure to comply with these regulations could seriously jeopardize the safety and security of maritime traffic in the area.
The headquarters also warned that any attempt by military vessels to interfere with the management of the Strait of Hormuz or disrupt shipping there would be met with a firm and decisive response from the Iranian Armed Forces.
Iran, which maintains its complete control over the waterway linking the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman, has repeatedly said that its regulatory measures were aimed at ensuring the security of ships, insisting that it would not tolerate any aggressive actions that undermine the management of the strait off the coasts of Iran and Oman.
