VP: US war crimes extended to environmental community

The head of the Department of Environment, Shina Ansari, has said the martyrdom of three members of the family of an environmental ranger, Javad Hassanzadeh, at the ranger post of the Tarom protected area in Hormozgan is yet another instance of US environmental crimes.

The silence of international environmental institutions in the face of this flagrant violation of human rights is unacceptable, Ansari wrote on her X account on Wednesday.

The US campaign of criminal aggression has now struck at the very heart of Iran’s environmental protection community, she added.

Seyyed Jowzar ranger post in the Tarom protected area of Hajjiabad town, Hormozgan Province, was struck by two projectiles on Tuesday.

In this attack, two sons and the daughter-in-law of Ranger Javad Hassanzadeh, who were present at the post, were martyred.

Ranger Hassanzadeh himself was unharmed as he was out on a patrol and monitoring mission at the time of the incident.
