Addressing a meeting of the Government Information Council at the Foreign Ministry in Tehran on Saturday, Araghchi described the media arena as part of the US-Israeli imposed war and called for using it to present a true narrative of the Iranian people’s resistance and steadfastness against the aggressors.
He elaborated on the role of the media while referring to the redoubled efforts of Iran’s diplomatic apparatus to advance the country’s national interests within the framework and guidelines of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the directives of the Supreme National Security Council.
The top diplomat also addressed the latest regional and international developments, including the repeated US violations of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and the continued military aggression against Iran.
Stating that the Foreign Ministry will use all available diplomatic avenues and tools to protect Iran’s national interests, he said consultations had been held with Oman to establish operational mechanisms for managing traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
Saturday’s meeting was attended by Head of the Government Information Council Elias Hazrati, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi, Administration Spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, as well as media executives, chief executive officers, and representatives of various media outlets.
For their part, Hazrati and Mohajerani praised the round-the-clock efforts of the Foreign Ministry in pursuing issues related to official, legal, and international diplomacy and in explaining Iran’s actions to defend its national interests.
